On October 21st, the Carrollton-Farmers Branch Rotary Club honored Fred Ferguson as its Citizen of the Year during a spectacular Black and White Gala.  It was an evening of celebration not only for Fred Ferguson, but also a celebration of 50 years of service for this Rotary Club.  The room was packed with Rotarians, friends and family of Fred, and many community leaders.  The Gala is an annual event which also serves as the club’s major fundraiser.  Over the years, this single event has raised thousands of dollars that go directly to support many community service organizations.  For more information, click on the “more” link below.

The 2010 Carrollton-Farmers Branch Rotary Club was a huge success thanks to all of its members and many community friends.  Fred Ferguson, a long time member of this club, was honored as its Citizen of the Year.  Many proclamations were given to Fred.  The Honorable Mayor of Farmers Branch, Tim O’Hare, declared October 21st as Fred Ferguson Day in Farmers Branch.  The Honorable Mayor of Carrollton, Ron Branson, gave Fred a Key to the City of Carrollton.
Fred will tell you that the GALA does not happen without much support from members as well as community businesses and organizations.  Sam Pack and Five Star Ford was the Title Sponsor. Our President Allison Fannin did an outstanding job as our MC for the evening.  The silent auction is always a lot of hard work to plan, but Regina Edwards and Allison along with a host of volunteers made it a big success. The list of people and sponsors is long.  To read more about this spectacular GALA and Fred Ferguson’s many years of community service, click on this link for a neighborsgo article contributed by Anne Acuna, Director of the Farmers Branch Chamber of Commerce.
