ImageFor the second year in a row, the Target Store in Carrollton at Josey Lane and George Bush Tollway has donated approximately $1,200 in school supplies to CFB-ISD.  The store’s Asset Protection Executive Team Leader Scott Keen is a former police officer who works with the Carrollton Police Department to sponsor some of its events and he loves kid-related charities. He coordinated the donation from Target and worked with Regina Edwards, Past President of the Rotary Club and Archie Nettles, former Rotaract member at Brookhaven College to deliver the supplies to CFB-ISD.  The supplies will be distributed to various schools as Superintendent Dr. Bobby Burns and his staff see fit. These 1254 packages of filler paper and 353 notebooks will help a lot of kids complete their school assignments and homework.

TARGET is committed to giving back 5% to helping individual communities and proudly supports schools. “Target encourages a love of learning in classrooms and beyond.”  For years, C-FB Rotary has purchased school supplies at Target but this year Target in Carrollton once again stepped up with this great donation.

Earlier in the school year, the C-FB Rotary club donated $500 in back packs and supplies to Victoria Mendoza at Farmers Branch Elementary to be used for the mentoring program this year.  Over the  past 13 years, an average of 10 members of this Rotary club (with a high of 22) have mentored 150+ kids in 5 CFB-ISD schools.

We all wish to thank Target in Carrollton for its generous donation.  Many kids will benefit from this kindness.
