The Carrollton-Farmers Branch Rotary Club was please to welcome District Governor Bud McBrayer and his wife Peggy to our August 18th meeting.  During his year as District Governor, he makes one official visit to every club in district 5810. We were number 47 out of 69 clubs.  Bud talked about building a team of leaders not just with desire, but with the passion to focus on the goals for the year and creating the framework for completing those goals.
One of his goals this year will be to focus on the 5th Avenue of Service, New Generations.  As we know Pete Cross is our new Director for New Generations.  How do we get younger people involved in Rotary?  It is through RYLA, Interact, Roteract, and Student Exchange.
Finding ways to improve our Public Relations is another way to get more people involved.  Rotary is the best kept secret in town.  District 5810 and 5790 teamed up for an evening at the Ballpark to bring awareness of Rotary in the DFW Metroplex.  Bud has challenged us to find unique ways to promote Rotary in our respective communities.  Following his challenge, we have created a Carrollton-Farmers Branch Rotary Club Facebook page that is linked to our website.  We will be finding new ways to communicate events and opportunities.
