CFB Rotary's 17th Annual Veterans Appreciation Luncheon was a great success, drawing together dozens of veterans and first responders from all across Carrollton and Farmers Branch. Club President Sonja Dodds welcomed members and guests and expressed gratitude to all those who have served.

Special guests Raphael and Paula Hernandez spoke of their experiences over 22 years of service in the Marine Corps. Raphael retired as a Lieutenant Colonel in 2015, while Paula continues her work as a "professional volunteer," serving as an advocate for veterans, service members and their families. Their niece Victoria Mendoza chaired the organizing committee for this year's luncheon and led the innovative conversation format, asking interesting and searching questions about what her uncle and aunt have seen and done.
