The Fourth Annual Carrollton/Farmers Branch Rotary Club Battle of the Badges Blood Drive was a huge success. Credit goes to the members of the C/FB Rotary Club for giving their time, energy and blood as well as to the members of the Farmers Branch Police and Fire Department for promoting the event and their blood donations. Also the employees of the City of Farmers Branch must be recognized for stepping up to the plate and donating blood as well as providing us a place to have the blood drive. Finally, credit has to be given to the residents of farmers Branch for their continued support of this blood drive.

The Battle of the Badges Blood Drive in conjunction with the Farmers Branch Senior Health Fair was a huge success.  Over 90 citizens, police, fire and Rotarians came forward and provided 76 units of blood.  The Battle of the Badges was a spirited competition between the Farmers Branch Police and Fire Departments.  The Police Department was again declared the winner of the competition by recruiting the most donors.  Sid Fuller, Chief of Police and an active member of the Carrollton-Farmers Branch Rotary Club retained the bragging rights for one more year.
The real winners are the many people who will need the generous gift of life in the weeks ahead.  Carter Blood Care provided the nightly professional environment at the Farmers Branch Community Recreation Center.
The Carrollton-Farmers Branch Rotary Club held its regular Thursday meeting at the Community Center allowing many of it is members to donate blood.  We enjoyed lunch catered by Cuquita's and an opportunity to simply enjoy good fellowship.
We express our appreciation to Chief Fuller and Fire Chief King for all their hard work in creating the competition that resulted in a very success drive. When people give blood, everyone wins!
